Nymphenburg (Nymph Castle)

Upon carrying out joint coordination, reviewing ideas and drawings, all participants agreed in Munich on a common line of design. We unanimously agreed not to take up a thematic adaption as originally envisioned, for example “Playground of Contrasts” or “Ruler of the Elements” as this seemed a bit too “put on”. Pursuing the goal of a consistent overall design line across all objects and equipment was not, however, abandoned. This would apply to the color schemes as well as to the materials processed.
The tree trunks we had cut with a chainsaw were very popular among the committee and the saw structure was to be preserved to the greatest extent possible. We looked at templates for various processing possibilities. The Bertram Büro was adamant that the colors be deployed very discreetly and subtlety. The intention was to convey a fairylike, nymph-like character to the playground.
Great importance was attached to the inclusion of trees at the tree house play deck. Ashwood and field maple were to be integrated here. Special importance was attached to the swing line; a curved tube made of three segments – with the massive, sawed-off supports - allows for three different swing seat variations. Along with the big tube slide, plenty of action is guaranteed for big and small children alike.
