In October 2004, we received a request from the city of Bremerhaven to participate in the competition for the design of the Friedrich-Ebert-Schule playground in Bremerhaven. The theme to be addressed was “Galaxy/ Spaceship.”

We took part with a design for a spaceship and space station. Our idea was received well at Bremerhaven\'s Municipal Park Office. Following this, joint talks took place with Herr Reinicke where specific requests were brought up. A working model was prepared and, using this, the details were incorporated.

Color samples were presented in the run-up to a color scheme decision. We wanted to preserve the metallic hue of a space station despite the use of oak wood. In the spring of this year, our firm was then given the commission by the city of Bremerhaven. The large main tower, to which the big tube slide is attached, was constructed entirely in our workshop and erected on site with the help of a telescopic forklift. After the foundation was completed, we were able to continue with the assembly of the other components. The result was the galactic, inimitable Space Station ZO 05, which the children could see and enjoy in their schoolyard day by day.
