Upon request by Herr Spiegel from Büro Plan Etage, and in further cooperation with him regarding the “Limes – Romans” theme, we were able to offer the town of Bad Vilbel an interesting concept. It envisions a playground modeled on a “Roman encampment” with Roman chariots, transport crates and barrels. The “Roman Encampment” is partially fenced in, displaying abstract symbols and shields leaned up against this fence. Springers in the form of pigs romp about in the sand near their trough. As agreed upon, this Roman encampment was envisioned to be located at the “Limes” (the Roman border between the Rhine and the Danube, First to Third Century AD). A so-called “Limes Tower” (Roman watchtower) was thus integrated into the design as a climbing tower.
