Similar to the application made to build a space station on the Friedrich Ebert School’s schoolyard, this design was the result of an inquiry made by the city of Bremerhaven. The theme to be addressed centered on the characters and stories of Astrid Lindgren.
The planners wished to have a large climbing frame with tube slides in the schoolyard. This lent itself to the idea of offering a concept into which the Villa Villeculla could be integrated. The design was duly skewed and colorful. Playhouses for the daycare center area were connected to one another via crawling tubes. Each playhouse also features a deck in front of it. As agreed upon, these playhouses were to correspond to those in Bullerby and thus have a typical Swedish appearance. Little Swedish flags on the rooftops should remove any doubt of this.

The entire schoolyard was redesigned during the summer vacation and the surprise for the schoolchildren was great when they discovered Villa Villeculla as a climbing frame at the beginning of the new school term.
