A “Playground for Everyone” was envisioned for the park at Hamburg-Stellingen.
We planned and designed a customized playground for children of all ages in close cooperation with Herr Hartmann of the planning office EGL in Hamburg.

The plan envisioned a fishing hut, a small pile dwelling with a slide for toddlers as well as a pirate ship of approx. 10-meters length. The ship features a crow’s nest, skull-and-crossbones pirate flag, treasure chest as well as a mobility-and -climbing combination with ropes, nets and a tunnel-scoop slide. A “wooden deck” shaped like the basic form of a ship serves as seating. A 23-meter long wooden walkway– laid out at irregular intervals - was planned slightly skewed and apparently wobbly to allow the changing of locations without getting wet.

Individual sections were installed on-site at the turn of the year 2010-2011. The playground was officially opened for play in June of 2011. For youths, there is a pavilion where they can withdraw and plenty of places to sit have been arranged for parents accompanying their children.
