The office of Nagel, Schonhoff + Partner assumed responsibility for restructuring Jahn Square in Hanover. From the start, plans called for a highly constructive design with right angles, honed beams, etc. A discreet color scheme was chosen and visitors will be able to experience the grounds in continually changing hues - owing to the varying colors of the individual beams’ sides - when walking around the play area.

A geometric cube was selected as the base body. We called it “BOX”. To embolden the adolescent users to participate, the title “BOXing your way through” was chosen.

Each of the beams is screwed down flat – out of this arises the “corner joints” design principle. The individual objects develop in accordance with their specific functions such as swinging, climbing, sliding, crawling, hiding and much more. Everything is constructive and geometrical.
