Berlin Spandau celebrated in the summer of 2016 the opening of a new playground including a Wasserplanschanlage in Haselhorst. The new square on Gorgasring covers just under 1500 square meters.
The selection of the game elements was decided by a jury of representatives of the district office, the playground commission, the children involved in the planning and a Berliner Wasserbetriebe employee.
According to the participation process, a barrier-free playground has been created, which invites both climbing and hanging, as well as digging and role playing. All play equipment was built from oak wood and colored steel tubes as posts, which particularly pleases the children.

The course has a varied balancing course, which consists of balancing ropes, a wobbly bridge and differently inclined podiums and requires dexterity. A climbing tower has been built for the older children, with integrated climbing and balancing elements, a slide and a nest swing, which offers a variety of playing possibilities. The mud area consists of a round playhouse, a mud table with sand play elements. In addition, two movable metal ramps ensure that even children with physical disabilities get to the water and sand landscape. Individually standing arched benches serve as seating for parents and children.
The BMW Group Plant Berlin also sponsored a wobbly motorcycle and sidecar.
