On the spacious grounds in Marzahn-Hellersdorf, visitors can also immerse themselves in fantasy worlds: The Zimmer.Obst GmbH built two playgrounds for the IGA Berlin in its workshop halls in Brandenburg. According to the ideas of the landscape architects geskes.hack, inspired by the future fantasies of Erich Kästner from his children's book "May 35 or Konrad rides into the South Seas", imaginative theme playgrounds are created.

Playground "Electropolis"

Directly at the eastern IGA main entrance Kienbergpark is the approximately 1900 square meter large playground "Elektropolis". In Kästner's novel, this is a fully automatic city where machines do everything necessary and people work only for their pleasure. The motif of the machine is decisive in this playground with its 8 meters high, 12 meters long and 5 meters wide climbing tower: The exterior is designed in geometric, cool and technocratic forms. Inside is room for pleasure: over three floors extend various lounges with climbing and Liegenetzenetzen, rubber mats, Kriechtunnel, ramps, cultivation chute and swing seats. This playground is intended as a meeting place for teenagers and older children. Benches, hammock and trampoline complete the youth-specific offer.
