Following a lengthy voting process with regard to the project’s scope, in 2012, the Krambamboul project management office was commissioned – together with Zimmer.Obst - to build the “Limes-Römer Playground“ at Millingen (The Netherlands) on the Rhine River near the German border.
We introduced first designs and plans for this project about two years ago.
Now, in the Spring of 2012, we can begin to realize our ideas at our workshop. In this connection, we also had to tackle the idea of an integrated “handicap course“. The builders placed particular emphasis on these stations. The play stations “Pavilion with a flat trawl floor” or “Pavilion with a boulder sensory surface”, two “mouthpiece/megaphone” stations and the “counting-and-sounds” station were included as part of the handicap course .
The climbing stretch “Limes with an Observation Tower“runs along the top of the hill. The tower has a fragmented character and serves as a sliding tower. The “Rome“double swing is outfitted with sturdy impact protection material and is accessible for all age groups.
The “ox cart” and “Roman Figure“atop the ridge of hills have turned into especially appealing objects. We completed on-site work in April and a safety-technical examination and certification was successfully carried out thereafter.
The Millingen playground was ceremoniously opened with a big party on 12 May 2012.
