Berlin Friedrichshain’s vast construction site at S-Bahnhof Ostkreuz, a city and suburban railway, has been an ongoing project for some time now. It will soon reopen in new-found splendour along with a new playground that was established in close proximity.
Its main focus will be a play object designed to look just like an “S-Bahn” train wagon; it will consist of two wagons that are connected to each other by means of a climbing net tunnel. Diverse play elements (for example: climbing nets, rubber mats, slides, crawl spaces, ramps and balancing opportunities) are connected to this “S-Bahn” train and offer plenty of space for kids to frolic, play hide n‘ seek, balance, climb and slide.
But that’s not all! Conductor‘s signalling discs will serve as springer elements and there will be a nest swing with an ornamental train station clock. There are benches in the immediate vicinity of the “S-Bahn” construction to offer a comfortable place to sit for accompanying adults.
