Zeit(z)reise (Time Travel)

At the State Horticultural Show 2004, we revived the old stonemason tradition. Directly at the gates of Moritzburg Castle, in cooperation with the artists group Steinzeichen, we created a world of play that brings to life the stone cutting trade for young children.
Here is where the time travel begins. Platforms, scaffolding and ladders are strewn across the meadow. Large sandstone blocks are moved with the help of wood rollers. Stone blocks of various sizes lay ready to be worked on. Here and there an ornament can already be discerned on the stones. As part of play, children pretend to be apprentices and their place of work becomes a place of play and vice versa. On certain days, it is even possible to hew the stone with the help of real stonemasons.
