In July of 2010, we received an inquiry for this project from the office of von Bargen landscape architects. At that time, designs for a toddler play area as well as a play area for older children were conceived and submitted. In August of 2011, the city of Berlin (District office Berlin-Mitte) issued a tender for the project. By October of 2011, we had already been commissioned to manufacture the playground equipment and install the components on-site.
The maritime-themed playground comprises a climbing-balancing stretch consisting of 8 octagonal beams as well as fish crates, nets, a fish trap and a wobbly bridge.
Fish-shaped spring riders and a hammock invite visitors to relax.
The 5-meter-high lighthouse for climbing, with an attached slide, is the playground’s highlight.
