The city of Gent solicited our bid for a Nature + Play- themed climbing frame to which we gladly complied with a design – under the direction of Krambamboul Projektmanagement - for a “microcosm” climbing facility. Our bid was subsequently accepted. We were asked to display so-called abstract “blades of grass” under old linden trees as the climbing facility’s main feature. These “blades of grass” become increasingly compact in the meadow and also serve as posts for the nets or rope-climbing elements that are mounted onto them.

A “giant spider” and a “mosquito” are positioned among the blades of grass as play objects. The grass blades and spider are elaborately carved and artistically painted.

The playground opening in Ghent took place on Saturday, 24 September 2011.
